It goes without saying that we think our products are top notch - we wouldn't sell them if they weren't! So we can tell you how wonderful they are, but we think it's best that you hear it from our customers...
Once again the Free Range Butcher have sourced excellent birds for our Christmas tables (one for Christmas Eve and another for Christmas Day), which meant we had lots of yummy leftovers.
We took the plunge this year and used the suggested brining method for extra moistness - what a winner! Even had a container and fridge space so we didn't need to worry about topping up with ice.
Had to leave the basting on both occasions in the charge of husband and sons, they are the champions. They even decided to use some husband-made apricot jam for a last minute glaze, super golden skin was the result - an absolute winner on the table. Have also given up carving before hand and just carve at the table onto people's plates, too easy.
Looking forward to another Easter Sunday turkey, makes it another special family celebration.

We have had the Pasture Fed free range ham for a couple of years now. This year I splurged on a whole ham. When it arrived I had qualms, fearing that it was too large. Need not have worried. On Christmas Day we carved a huge plateful which disappeared in seconds. They all loved it - with good reason. It was full of flavour, with a wonderful texture and looked good. As my daughter carved it she said "This must have been a very happy pig"
We are still eating it and still enjoying it..

A large bird (nearly 6kgs). On Christmas morning stuffed with homemade force met stuffing the chestnut stuffing. Used Delia Smith's method, wrapping the bird in foil until 30 minutes before end of cooking time, then allowing 30 minutes to rest. A succulent bird, with moist flesh it fed 15 people so well that the anticipated left overs were very modest. What is now left will be turned into stock. These are the tastiest and best turkeys we have ever had and leave the frozen supermarket product for dead.
This is our second year of purchasing a Ham from the free range butcher and we were not disappointed.
So easy to order on line, delivered to the door in a well insulated foam box. The ham was succulent and moist.

I've bought these hams for two years in a row at Christmas and will continue to do so. Beautifully moist, tasty and smoky. In my opinion, it's absolutely worth spending the money on a high-quality ham from a happy pig. It went a long way in terms of the meat feeding people and nothing went to waste - the ham-bone made some delicious stock, and the skin lends a lovely smoky flavour to stews or home-made baked beans.

I follow a Paleo diet and had been checking various options/butchers for grass fed beef and pastured meat.
I met Ben at the Farmers Markets and asked him a number of questions related to the quality of the produce. His answers fit in with my requirements. I was glad to find a butcher selling the meat I required and that I could buy at the Farmers Markets or via The Free Range Butcher website.
Now, I just order online .... and get ALL my meat supplies delivered to my door. Very convenient!

Ben, great to meet you last month at the markets. The Rolled Pork Loin that we bought from you was amazing. We cooked it on the Rotisserie on our BBQ, as you suggested, and rubbed it with oil, salt and a bit of sage. Crackling was crunchy all the way around and the meat was so tender and juicy. We had friends around for lunch and there weren’t any complaints.

I just wanted to thank you, first of all for the tips on how to cook the beef, and second for the most magnificent tasting meat I’ve tasted in a very long time.
